The Department of Scientific Affairs is considered the main meeting place for the university’s scientific output in various fields, from patents to the scientific publishing movement. The department also follows up on a wide range of diverse scientific activities, such as conferences, seminars, and workshops, in addition to taking care of other scientific aspects. The department was established when the University of Technology was established in 1975, and consists of three divisions: the Scientific Division, which is concerned with scientific research and projects; the Scientific Output Marketing Division, which is concerned with promoting and marketing innovations and inventions; and the Scientific Journals Division, which monitors the performance of the journals published by the University of Technology-Iraq, in addition to evaluating the accreditation of scientific journals. The department seeks to promote scientific research and transfer knowledge, which contributes to enhancing the university’s position and making valuable contributions in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
