Workshop on “Air Pollution”

The Scientific Affairs Department, in collaboration with the College of Control and Systems Engineering and the Women’s Affairs Unit, organized an awareness workshop on May 11, 2025, on the sources and effects of air pollution and its impact on climate change. The workshop aimed to raise awareness of students and staff about the phenomenon of air pollution and its negative impact on human health.

The workshop included a lecture presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Riyadh Khaleel, who discussed the various causes and sources of air pollution by greenhouse gases resulting from the industrial revolution and human activities, and their risks to human health. The lecture also provided awareness on solutions and recommendations to reduce this phenomenon and its impact on climate change. Additionally, the workshop demonstrated how to measure air quality using the “Air Quality Index”.
